Colorado tends to have less varieties of trees than the North Eastern U.S. This means less variety in color come fall. But color comes from vegetation other than just trees. Look to the floor of this Aspen forest for an example of the fabulous color found in Colorado autumn.
Rocky River
On my recent road trip to the western slope of Colorado, I captured scenic bliss that warms my heart on a chilly rainy day.
Mountain Majesty
Denver is so close to the mountains, that it only take s a few minutes drive before one can view majestic mountain peaks.
Fall color is painting the slopes, soon to be replaced with a dusting of snow. A preview of what is soon to come.
The Story is in the Sky
Watching the clouds is a favorite past time in the west. The weather can be seen approaching miles away, it rolls in and out providing an entertainment of a sorts.
Whitewater Dog
Denver dogs are not excluded from having fun! This guy was having a great time tubing down Platte River.
Night Glow
Tonight at 8 pm the balloons will perform a night glow show for the public, so it’s not to late to go!
The size of the crowd amazed me at first, but then I figured most people are up at 8 p.m. as opposed to being somewhere at 7 am which is when the fly in the morning!
Colorado Springs Balloon Classic
The annual Colorado Springs Balloon Classic is the largest hot air balloon event in Colorado. The event attracts balloons from all over the U.S. some 100 balloons show up to participate. This 3 day event includes a lift-off each morning and two balloon glow events at night.
Golden as in Colorado
A short drive from Downtown Denver is the once upon a time territorial Capitol of of Colorado, Golden. If ever an area was rich in history and beauty, it’s Golden, Colorado! City pride is evident all around by the delightful statues seen everywhere.
I went on a Photowalk in Golden and got tired long before I finished. Golden is a two, maybe three day Photowalk for me!
Storm Clouds Rising on the Rockies
Vistas like this a common sights in Colorado, particularly along the Front Range. On a clear day, we can see for 100 miles or more. Climb to a high vista like this one, located just above the town of Castle Rock and one can watch cloud formations come and go.
It’s nature’s stage, one I never tire of watching.
