The State Capitol building is open to the public for a variety of tours. I enjoy just walking around taking in all the wonderful details.
Capitol Dome
The Golden Dome shines for the entire state of Colorado. It’s a beautiful building, both inside and out.
Winter is Coming
No kidding! When traveling Trail Ridge Road anytime of year, winter is coming!
I once rode over this trail on my bike with a group of people. Two young ladies in the group were from Texas. On top of the mountain I watched them use duck tape to secure plastic shopping bags to their very cold, red, sore bare legs.
These Texans couldn’t get over how cold it was in June.
“Honey” I wanted to say, “you are standing at 14,000 feet above altitude. It’s never summer here.”
DUH.
Flatlanders.
The Ford Truck
Standing on the corner in Morrison, Colorado one never knows what delightful sites will occur. This photo makes locals crave margaritas.
I don’t understand why.
🙂
Pikes Peak in Blue
In the hills above Denver, in a town called Conifer, one can see very far away on a clear day. Of course most of our days are clear. This morning I was rewarded with low lying clouds that looked like snow.
Colorado is grand.
Colorado Color
Eye candy in a kaleidoscope of colors can be found on just about any dirt road in the Rocky Mountains. Of course it’s always a bonus when you can see a snow capped peak.
Go Rockies
On the north side of Coors Field, the neon Rockies play 24/7.
Changing of the Seasons
A sunny day, a dirt road and fall colors is a perfect way to spend an afternoon. I pity the people who live in parts of the country where the seasons all blend together. I can’t imagine missing the wonderful crisp fall air and the beauty of the color in Colorado.
Elk Just Want to Have Fun!
The Elk Herds in Rocky Mountain National Park draw visitors from all over the world. As a locals, we are so lucky to have this wonderful place practically in our back yard.
This Bull stopped traffic and created a wonderful photographic opportunity for many. I didn’t realize he was mocking me with his tongue until I got home and was viewing the photos.
Fresh guy!
