This Longhorn have me an icy stare and turned to walk away. I got the feeling she really didn’t like me! Bummer, I thought she was pretty cool!
Red Barn Southbound Train
If you drive from Denver to Colorado Springs, you will see this charming red barn at the Greenland exit. There’s not much there, but then not much can be pretty awesome. I enjoy shooting this location in different kinds of light and different times of day. I’m sure the rancher that lives there is used to photographers hanging over his fence. I’m glad he doesn’t seem to mind. I certainly appreciate the view.

Making First Tracks
There is something special about making first tracks in the snow. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve walked there before or how many people walked this route in the past, making those first footprints in the snow is fun. This morning I found a wonderful peacefulness in being alone on the Highline Canal with just myself, my camera and a million noisy geese!

Snowflakes are Falling On My Head
Daniel’s Park is home to about 26 American Bison. Most people, including me refer to them as “buffalo.” I like calling them Bill, Buffalo Bill that is! This guy is curious about me. He wants to know what I am up to and why I didn’t bring him some dinner.

Red Cloud Over the Rockies
Rocky Mountain Hi!

Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep
Wildlife up on Mt. Evans is very common. The Big Horn Sheep are there, but hard to see. The last time I visited the mountain, I was 1) lucky enough not to be driving 2) thrilled to see many Big Horns all over the mountain 3) get my husband to stop in traffic while I shot a few pictures! This one was taken near Summit Lake. She had come into the parking lot to forage for food, but a tourist chased her in an effort to feed her. The Sheep didn’t like the tourist’s offerings and took off for higher ground.
