At the Four Mile Historic Park, demonstrations are held depicting traditions of long ago. I enjoyed seeing this young girl learn to quilt.

Wintertime at Denver’s Four Mile Historic Park evokes visions of a past that intrigues me. The first settlers of our country were tough people who lived hard lives and help pave the way for us to live easier lives at the foot of these magnificent Rocky Mountains.
It would be fun to bring someone back to see how we live our lives today. I wonder if they would appreciate an iPhone?

Imagine
We are so used to comforts in every facet our our lives. I have a hard time imagining what it would have been like, living in the 18th century, crossing the country in a covered wagon on muddy or dry and dusty trails.
Obviously our forefathers were an ambitions bunch. I’m glad they had their adventurous spirit, otherwise Denver never would have been settled. Then where would I live? N.J? 🙂
