Denver’s Confluence Park is a great place to go for some afternoon exercise or people watching.

Under the Street
If you look at this as I do and sing the Little Mermaid tune “Under the Sea” you too will drive yourself crazy!
Found under the Speer bridge by Confluence Park, this mural is one of many master pieces dwelling on the concrete. I find such art amazing considering the medium on which is drawn.
How do they do it?
Recreation Trails
One of my favorite places to hang out is the REI Flagship Store at Confluence Park. Yes, sometimes I shop, but most of all I enjoy watching people.
This little corner of the world has so much activity. People are walking, jogging, cycling, skating, tubing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, rafting and some just drinking Starbucks.
You can get there by car, parking is a little tough on weekends, you just need to be patient. You can also get there by walking over the bridge along the Cherry Creek Trail. Frequently I arrive by bike coming from the south alone the Platte River Trail.
No matter how you arrive, it’s a great location.
Urban Water Recreation
Growing up on the ocean I find swimming in a river intimidating. I am always amazed at the brave souls who enter the water at Confluence Park.
On a hot summer’s day they use this area just like I used to use the New Jersey Beach. Guess when it comes to having fun you have it. Cooling off in the water is a universal sport.
At least here they don’t have to worry about getting stung by a jelly fish!
