This site is located in a place called Debbie Park which is adjacent to the famous Chimney Rock. Funny, while everyone was focused on capturing Chimney Rock at sunset, I walked in the opposite direction and found this scene. Next thing I know people are following in my example! #PureColorado
Cow Capture
Traveling the back roads of Colorado, I get to see (and hear) many things. This particular morning I was photographing the aspen trees in the high country. This cow keep mooing and mooing. I think she wanted to join me or at least communicate in some way! It was fun to be noticed by a cow. I took her picture so I could remember the moment.

The Tree
The Tree lives up on Mt. Evans. It is part of the enduring Bristlecone Trees who have a history of surviving in harsh weather and bad soils. They are among the oldest living life forms on earth! If this trees could talk!
I braved the night, getting up at 3 a.m. to make the trip up Mt. Evans from my home so I could see the sunrise. I thought I was unique! How wrong I was, the road wasn’t as busy as during the day, but I certainly wasn’t alone on that mountain! Cars keep climbing up and beyond to the summit no doubt to witness what I was there to see!
It was worth it. The sun broached the horizon creating wonderful and changing colors! From the moment it started until it was high in the sky, I continued to capture it’s beauty. The colors changed during this time giving me very different images despite not moving more that a few inches either way!
If you haven’t experienced a sunrise on Mt. Evans, set your alarm clock for 0-dark-30 and do it before you die! Trust me on this. It is worth the trip. 14,300 feet above sea level

Little Ivy Chapel
We did a night shoot at the Fairmount Cemetery on a warm summer night a few weeks ago. A group of us enjoyed capturing sunbursts as the sun set. It’s a little hard to do, but if you want to give it a try, set your F-stop to F-16 or more and shoot into the sun. It’s best if you can obscure the sun a little, otherwise you go blind for many minutes. Don’t ask me how I know!

Sunburst Arch
Sundown is a great time to go exploring the city for different angles and images. I so enjoy the Boat House at City Park for it’s interesting architecture and great views of the lake and beyond.
