These guys are the stars of the Parade. Everyone comes to see them march down 17th Street as they lead the parade. As they see the dressed up crowd, I’m sure they are thinking, “Where’s the party?”
I love the vibrant colors of rodeo wear! Where else can one dress up in the hues of a peacock and look spectacular?
Transportation of years ago must have been exhausting. Wouldn’t it be fun to bring back to our time a person from the past. I often wonder if they would like things now or prefer the simple times of old.
The National Western Stock Show parade always begins with the Governor of Colorado and a few Rodeo Queens riding along with the Texas Longhorns down 17th Street. All in a day’s work for the Gov!

Rocky Mountain Airport in Broomfield presents an airshow each year. The gentleman in the wheelchair just finished his performance in a hang glider. He was injured years ago and lost the use of his legs, but that doesn’t stop him from flying. He says, “I have to fly because I can’t walk!”
How cool is that?
If you look at this as I do and sing the Little Mermaid tune “Under the Sea” you too will drive yourself crazy!
Found under the Speer bridge by Confluence Park, this mural is one of many master pieces dwelling on the concrete. I find such art amazing considering the medium on which is drawn.
How do they do it?
The spotlight focuses on the Rodeo Queen as we stand at attention singing the National Anthem.
Cowboys, cowgirls, horses, bulls, rodeo clowns and Old Glory….how much more authentic American can we get?
My spine tingles.
