Behind the scenes as the horses were ridden thru the shoots.
After the drive of 60 miles the horses made it home to the ranch. They were let loose in a pasture. Here they refreshed themselves with a cool drink from the stream, as the sun glowed its final golden hue of the day.
This image was one of my favorites, it was perfect for monochrome as the day was cold and colorless.
The herd didn’t exactly follow the easy route. Sometimes they went down the middle of the road and other times they went over the side of the road.
The talent of these cowboys amazes me. They can ride at a breakneck speed while lassoing a runaway horse, with accuracy!

What a settling! This image was taken at the Equine Photographers Workshop held at the Sombrero Ranch in Craig, Colorado.
It was a lucky day when I took a detour after a real estate appointment. I drove over to I-70 to see if the Bison were out. They were! This young guy was a little of unsure of me, friend or foe?
